As one of the most well known and most anticipated festivals in the US, you can expect great things to come from each year’s celebrations. Of course, Lollapalooza is more than just another music festival, it’s a cultural experience that takes place on 115 acres in Chicago. As you can probably imagine, getting tickets to this bad boy will be difficult so we are here to offer a few tips and tricks to help you out.
What do you need to do first?
First, you should sign up for Lollapalooza’s festival e-list, where you will receive exclusive emails concerning important festival information such as news and announcements, lineups, when tickets go on sale, and other exclusives. We also suggest following them on Twitter and Facebook for other articles and announcements about the event.
Once you’re all signed up you will be one of the first to find out when tickets go on sale.
Don’t forget about MyFest! By creating a MyFest account you are enabling yourself easy access to all things Lollapalooza. You can create a customized schedule for who you want to see and you can even share with your friends so you can plan your experience together.

It’s time for tickets to go on sale what do you do? Get to the stand by page as soon as possible! Do’t refresh your page once you are there or you could be bumped out of your spot! Now what?
If you want to enjoy more great music you can check out the official Lollapalooza late night shows. They take place in Chicago and the surrounding cities and you don’t need your wristband to attend. More information about these event will be release closer to the festival.
Anything else?
Here are just a few more things to consider before getting your tickets:
- Stay under the ticket limit – If you go over, your order can be cancelled. (Ticket limit is 8)
- Children 10 and younger get in free of charge with an adult who has a ticket.
- Lockers will be available to rent.
- There isn’t parking on festival grounds – but there are a few parking areas nearby. You can reserve and pre-pay for regular and discounted parking in advance on Lollapalozza’s webisite at any time.
