The Austin City Limits Music Festival is an annual festival that is held on two consecutive three day weekends in the late summer at Zilker Park, Austin Texas. This festival doesn’t just have music, there is also food, drinks, a kids area for families, an art market, and many other activities for the approximate 75,000 people who attend. Those at the festival have the opportunity to give back to the community with ACL Cares, a section that supports good causes such as the Nature Conservancy to make a difference in the Austin community. With this many people in attendance and many others fighting to get tickets, we’ve put together this guide to help you get passes to the festival.

After you buy
Your wristbands will be mailed to you around 2-4 weeks prior to the festival, and are non-exchangeable, transferable, or replaceable. Do not put your wristband on when you get it, wait until you are on your way or are about to go to the festival; wristbands that are stretched or tampered with will be denied at the gate and you will not be allowed into the festival. Make sure you activate your wristband a few days before the festival to give yourself some time to register for ACL cashless. Even if you don’t go cashless you will still need to activate you wristband.
ACL Cashless allows you to link any of your credit cards to your wristband and set a PIN for security. With cashless wristbands all you do is go to the vendor or bar with the ACL cashless logo and let them know you are paying with your wristband, tap it, enter your pin, and there you go.
Want to plan out your schedule while at the festival? Check out MyACL. MyACL is an account that gives you access to all the festival activities and allows you to create a customized schedule based on who you want to see and what you want to do. If you want even more info than what MyACL give you, you can check out the E-list where you will get emails about super special deals, updates on future festival tickets, official late night shows, and artist giveaways.
If you didn’t buy a travel package, your next step is to consider where to stay and how to get there. There are hotels that are partnered with the Austin City Limits Music Festival where you can get affordable rates compared to other places around.
Need a place to park? Parking is not offered at the site of the festival but there are many garages nearby to choose from and free shuttle services from Capital Metro to and from Republic Square on 4th and Guadalupe are offered. VIP Pass holders can obtain one parking pass near the park, the same with Platinum pass holders. Individual parking passes can also be purchased on the ticket page a few weeks before the festival.
